Priesthood and Deaconate Ordinations in the Seminary Church

On Saturday, May 16, 2009,  Msgr Józef Guzdek, Auxiliary Bishop for Archdiocese of Krakow has ordained new priests and deacons during the special liturgy in the Vincentian Fathers Seminary Church of Conversion of St. Paul at Stradom, Krakow. All new ordained are graduates of Vincentian Fathers Institute of Theology (ITKM) in Krakow. Those ordained come from Province of Poland of the Congregation of the Mission (three priests and one deacon) and from Polish Province of Congregation of Canons Regular of the Lateran (two priests and one deacon).

Ordained to the priesthood were:
from the Congregation of the Mission:

• Rev. Mr. Jacek Piotrowski, C.M.; born April 05, 1983; admitted into Congregation December 8, 2002; incorporated (perpetual vows) December 8, 2007; deaconate May 17, 2008
• Rev. Mr. Szczepan Szpoton, C.M.; born March 30, 1983; admitted into Congregation December 8, 2002; incorporated (perpetual vows) December 8, 2007; deaconate May 17, 2008
• Rev. Mr. Marcin Wróbel, C.M.; born February 5, 1982, admitted into Congregation December 8, 2002; incorporated (perpetual vows) December 8, 2007; deaconate May 17, 2008

from the Congregation of Canons Regular of the Lateran:

• Rev. Mr. Łukasz Matuszczak, C.R.L.; born July 4, 1983; received into Novitiate August 28, 2002, Profession (perpetual vows) August 28, 2007, deaconate May 17, 2008
• Rev. Mr. Przemysław Soboń, C.R.L., born February 1, 1981; received into Novitiate September 24, 2000; Profession (perpetual vows) August 28, 2005; deaconate May 20, 2006

• Mr. Grzegorz Szpak, C.M.; born July 8, 1983; received into Congregation December 8, 2002, incorporated (perpetual vows) December 8, 2007

from the Congregation of Canons Regular of the Lateran:

• Mr. Dawid Klaudiusz Köver, C.R.L.;  born January 20, 1984; received into Novitiate August 28, 2003, Profession (perpetual vows) August 28, 2008

“Tu es sacerdos in aeternum secundum ordinem Melchisedech”

After the liturgy attendants, professors, priests and other guests were welcemed in the Auditorium of the Institute of Theology. During the academy, newly ordained Vincentian priests, graduates of the Vincentian Fahers Institute of Theology (ITKM) were receiving their Master of Divinity Diplomas.  In his speech, Rector of the Institute emphasized, that all three of them – Rev. Jacek Pawłowski CM, M.Div., Rev. Szczepan Szpoton CM, M.Div., Rev. Marcin Wróbel CM, M.Div, passed final exams “cum Laude”. Others speaking during the ceremony were Very Rev. Arkadiusz Zakręta CM, J.C.D., Visitor of Poland and Msgr Józef Guzdek who presided the liturgy. One of the graduates, on behalf of all, thanked faculty members, formators and Superiors for all the attention and care they handed out to make them good priests and good Vincentians.  Seminary’s music band “Lazaryści” enriched the ceremony singing some evangelization songs from their repertoire.

When the ceremony in the Auditorium  was over,  new-ordained priest and deacon, their families and some guests, other priests passed to the Refectory for formal lunch.
