Superior General visits Poland

Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission, Fr. Gregory Gay CM, arrived with twelve day visit to Poland from October 31 to November 11. We are very happy and enjoyed, that his trip to Province of Poland and all three Provinces of Daughters of Charity is spanned between two very important moments for us, the Feast of All Saints and the Independence Day.

During his visit to our community Superior General will have meetings with Confreres from Provincial House at Stradom, St. Vincent de Paul House at Kleparz in Krakow, Our Lady of Lourdes and Bl. Aniela Salawa Parishes in Krakow, “Vincentinum” Retreat Center in Krzeszowice, House of Holy Cross in Warsaw, House of St. Vincent de Paul in Bydgoszcz, Parish of the Pentecost in Sopot, Miraculous Medal Sanctuary in Zakopane-Olcza,  “Radosna Nowina 2000″ educational center in Piekary near Krakow and headquarters of “U Siemachy” Association, a social ministry for children in Kraków.

Fr. Greg will have meetings in Provincial Houses of Daughters of Charity in Chelmno, Warsaw and Krakow. He will visit some of their works, too – Special Care Center for children in Lbiska near Warsaw and nursery home for elderly (Helcel House) in Krakow.

Other places he will visit are part of Polish heritage and include Our Lady of Czestochowa Sanctuary st Jasna Gora, Devine Mercy Snactuary in Lagiewniki, Krakow, KL Auschwitz-Birkenau, Wadowice, hometown of John Paul II and Gdansk. On Sunday, Feast of All Saints, he is to visits graves, a Polish tradition on that day, of Vincentians and Daughters of Charity st Rakowicki Cemetery in Krakow. One of the most important events of his attention will be celebration of dressing cassocks by our seminarians who have just finished Internal Seminary according to our tradition.
